Barcelona are reportedly interested in Hakim Ziyech and are considering signing the Chelsea playmaker on loan in the January transfer window.
According to a report from the Spanish publication SPORT, Hakim Ziyech appeared on Barcelona’s radar due to movement in the January transfer window. The Catalan giants are considering a possible loan for the Chelsea playmaker, although the final decision on a transfer rests with Xavi.
Hakim Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax in the summer of 2020 after a productive stint with the Dutch heavyweights. However, upon arriving at Stamford Bridge amid much fanfare, his passage was beset with a series of injuries which significantly reduced his involvement.
The same has been the case so far in 2021/22, with Ziyech starting just eight of the 18 games Chelsea have played, scoring two goals and one assist. However, despite his fitness issues, his stock remains high with Barcelona showing interest in the Moroccan playmaker.
According to SPORT, Barcelona have a long-standing interest in Ziyech, having followed him since his days with Ajax. The eagerness to sign the Chelsea forward appears to have only gotten stronger for the Catalan giants, who are now considering a loan in January.

The Blaugrana Can only hope to sign players on loan this winter, according to numerous reports, due to their precarious financial situation. To that end, it has been widely reported that Raheem Sterling is Barcelona’s priority on the loan front for the January transfer window.
The Catalans have also been touted to be keeping a close eye on the situation of three Chelsea forwards, including Ziyech. Interest in the Moroccan playmaker makes sense amid the fitness issues that continue to plague Ousmane Dembele. Yusuf Demir having failed to impress and Philippe Coutinho deemed surplus to needs, it is imperative to strengthen the attack for Barcelona.
As a result, a loan for Ziyech is now being considered, although Xavi has the final say on who the club should pursue in the January transfer window. So it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will end up firming their interest in the Chelsea ace this winter or shifting their attention elsewhere.
